Since many of my friends are either retired, or wish they were, I am going to invite them to post their own stories in the comment sections. Should make for interesting reading.
Have a great evening.
I'm 65, graduated in April of this year from the University of North Florida with post-baccalaureate degrees in History and Spanish, and I'm now a graduate student working on a Master of Liberal Arts in Florida Studies at the University of South Florida.
People ask me how soon after I get my Master's will I start working on my Ph.D.
Don't put it past me.
I must have been hyperactive as a child (and I do see a lot of myself in my 7-year-old ADHD grandson) because I have never been able to sit still or rest on my laurels.
Retire? Quite probably not. I will probably, as my maiden aunt Elizabeth did, go with my boots on.
Wow! I'm impressed. I'm Kathy's other half Bren and if/when I retire from paid work I intent to become a university student. (Tuition is free for senior at most universities here.) I'm planning on useful things like Philosophy, Literature and History as this is where my academic background lies.
Other than that I'll do volunteer work for causes I am passionate about.
If we can afford it I'd also love to travel the world.
Will I ever retire? I think not.
